Meg White

"I think she’s one of the best drummers of our time.” —Olivia Rodrigo

That's from an article on Elle about Meg White.

I agree. Her drumming - especially live - was just perfect. Not more or less than it needed to be, every time. And what a massive sound just Meg and Jack could make together.

The whole article is good, if all second or third hand, because Meg White doesn't do interviews.

And damn, I still miss the White Stripes. They were just amazing, album after album after album.

Rancid - Spirit of '87

This is a particularly slamming song on a pretty slamming album - Indestructable.

The video is all footage from their tour with GBH in Japan. Home is where the heart is, and for me, home is Japan. I can't wait to be there again and the video for this song - and thus the song - pull me back there every time I hear it.

Here's to me being home again soon.

Rancid - Alleyways & Avenues - Live 2016

Times are gonna change, change or step aside.

Jeff Beck

Jeff Beck passed away.

He was an utterly amazing guitarist. Here he is with the Yardbirds doing my favorite song of theirs.

Heart Full of Soul

Dropkick Murphys - The Season's Upon Us

Merry Christmas!

I'd never describe myself as a big fan of Dropkick Murphys but I've seen them live more than a few times. That's a combination of festival shows, co-headlining with Rancid, and them just being a fantastic live show every single time.

So Merry Christmas!

Keith Levene - RIP

Keith Levene passed away. He was a founding member of The Clash, and and a founding member (with Jah Wobble and John Lydon) of PiL.

Here is the stunning opening to their self-titled first album, "Theme."

Misfits - Last Caress

My trainer Mike decided it was high time to educate the youngsters today about music. We ended up talking about The Misfits and he played a bunch, starting with this:

Great stuff. I insisted he follow it up with Where Eagles Dare.
