I Like the Cover Better: Motorhead - Shoot 'em Down

I love the original of this song by Twisted Sister. It's very TS and really feels like it could be a Brian Johnson-era AC/DC song with just slightly too many chords to really be AC/DC.

But the Motorhead version is everything that's good about the original and everything that is good about Motorhead.

Iron Maiden - The Prisoner

I really wanted to hear this yesterday, and requested it, but our music streaming service at work just wouldn't bring it up. I heard plenty of excellent Iron Maiden, some Metallica, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Pantera, and Megadeath . . . but it didn't scratch this itch.

There, that does it.

Good song, and of course, it's got the snippet of Patrick McGoohan as No. 6 in the beginning.

J. Geils Band - Love Stinks

We lost J. Geils . . .

The J. Geils Band was the biggest and most popular band in my school when I was in 4th grade. Before that, I was in another school and Styx was huge. But that's when I first heard them. Freeze Frame and Centerfold, of course, but if they'd only ever done Love Stinks they'd still be a favorite of mine.

The Lords of the New Church - Like A Virgin

I can't believe I didn't post this before. Part of my commute home music this morning.

Better than the original. Play this one loud and belch along with Stiv Bators.

45 Grave - Evil

Today's post is brought to you by the number 45.

Thanks to a co-worker of mine way back when who included this song - along with two other 45 Grave tracks - on a mix tape.
